A wide variety of outdoor activities abound in Acadia NP, including biking, bird watching, boating, camping, cross-country skiing, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, nature walks, snow skiing, snowshoeing, stargazing, swimming and more. Visitors can hike or drive to the summit of this 1,532-foot high mountain for a 360-degree view of the ocean, islands, coastline, woods and lakes of Acadia. For more beautiful scenery, walk the Ocean Trail, which runs alongside the Park Loop Road from Sand Beach to the Otter Point parking area. From the trail, visitors can see huge slabs of pink granite stacked along the ocean's edge and Thunder Hole, a natural seaside cave.
