The Maine coastal climate is ranked second in the nation, behind the Pacific Northwest, in annual precipitation. Rain is frequent year round, and fog is common during June, July and August. Ice storms are regular in the winter and early spring, and several feet of snow is likely between November and April. Summer temperatures are quite mild, with highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s. Winter highs reach the 30s, dropping to the teens in the evenings.
